Oluwayinka Oke

Oluwayinka Oke is born and raised in Nigeria. She studied Pure and Applied Chemistry as an undergraduate at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. She proceeded to study Organic Chemistry at University of Lagos, Nigeria where she worked on elucidation of active principles from Nigerian plants with antimicrobial properties. She was a visiting scholar at the DOH group for a couple of months in 2018 under the RSC mobility grant and is currently back as a Commonwealth Split-site PhD scholar. Her research focus is on metabolism of fluorinated compounds in Streptomyces species and Cunninghamella elegans. She enjoys cooking and spending time with children..
