Luca graduated from the University of Warwick in 2016 with an MChem degree. During his MChem project he worked in fluorine chemistry with Dr. Graham Pattison developing a method for the rhodium catalysed arylation of difluoromethylated ketones. He also previously completed a summer research project at the University of Warwick, studying the oxidations of alcohol amines under Prof. Martin Wills. After working in industry for three years, Luca started his Ph.D at the University of St. Andrews in 2019, under the supervision of Prof. David O’Hagan where he is working on synthesising derivatives of muscone. Outside the lab, Luca enjoys football, travelling and reading.
